The Final Whistle Of The Regular Season, A Football Playoff Berth: How Did The Football Team Clinch A Playoff Spot?

The day is unfolding with warmth and promise, and I trust that you are experiencing moments of joy, relaxation, and contentment as the hours pass.         On Saturday, November 22nd, the University of North Dakota football team faced off against South Dakota State University (SDSU) in their regular season finale and Senior Day. The game was an intense, back-and-forth battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats. North Dakota started strong, quickly establishing a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. SDSU responded in the second quarter, scoring a touchdown to narrow the gap to 14-7. Before halftime, North Dakota extended their lead with a field goal, bringing the score to 17-7. The third quarter saw both teams trading points, with North Dakota adding a field goal to increase their lead to 20-7. However, SDSU mounted a remarkable comeback, scoring two consecutive touchdowns to take a 21-20 lead by the end of the quarter. The momentum continued into the fourth quarter, with SDSU scoring again to stretch their lead to 28-20. In a dramatic turn of events, North Dakota fought back, tying the game at 28-28 and forcing overtime. The overtime period was equally thrilling, with North Dakota initially taking the lead with a field goal to make it 31-28. However, SDSU had the final say, scoring a touchdown to secure a narrow 34-31 victory and end the game on a high note for their team.

          The Fighting Hawks Football team is set to compete in the NCAA FCS playoffs, showcasing their athletic prowess and determination after being chosen by the Playoff Committee. They will face off against Tennessee Tech (TTU) in an anticipated matchup scheduled for Saturday, November 29th at 12:00 PM. This playoff game represents a significant milestone for the team, offering them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills on a national stage and potentially advance further in the tournament. I will share how to watch the game on Saturday in my pregame blog. I will make my playoff bracket and release it before Thanksgiving.
