On Saturday, November 8th, the UND Volleyball team faced off against their rivals, North Dakota State University (NDSU), in an intense match. The Bison demonstrated their prowess early on, securing the first set with a commanding 25-17 victory. The second set proved to be a nail-biting encounter, with both teams fighting fiercely for every point. Despite the UND Fighting Hawks' valiant efforts, NDSU managed to clinch the set narrowly at 25-23. The third set followed a similar pattern, with NDSU maintaining their momentum and ultimately winning 25-21. The match concluded with NDSU emerging victorious, defeating UND in a clean 3-0 sweep, highlighting their dominance on the volleyball court that day.
The UND Women's Basketball Team is experiencing a challenging start to their 2023-2024 season, currently struggling with a disappointing 0-3 record. In their season opener on November 4th, the Hawks faced a significant setback against the University of Minnesota (UM), suffering a substantial defeat with a final score of 91-47. The team's difficulties continued on Friday, November 7th, when they were defeated by Youngstown State University (YSU) in another challenging match. Adding to their early season struggles, on November 11th, the UND Women's Basketball team lost to Green Bay (GB) with a final score of 67-43, further highlighting their early season performance challenges. These consecutive losses have put pressure on the team to regroup and improve their gameplay in upcoming matches.
The University of North Dakota (UND) Men's Basketball team has been navigating a turbulent start to their 2023-2024 season, with an initial record of 1-3 that reflects the challenges they've encountered. Their season began with a challenging loss against the University of Alabama (UA), setting a difficult tone for their early games. On November 6th, the Fighting Hawks engaged in a tightly contested battle against UC Riverside (UCR), narrowly missing victory with a final score of 74-70. The team's struggles continued on November 9th when they suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of California State University Northridge (CSUN). However, the team found a moment of redemption on November 11th, delivering a resounding victory against Mayville State University (MSU) with an impressive 128-58 win, demonstrating their potential and resilience in the face of early season setbacks.
