The Thursday Tailgate: The Thursday Sports Feature On A Football Player and Softball Player





         Good Evening and Happy Thursday April 23rd, 2026 Hawk Fans! I hope your day was as electric and unforgettable as a front-row seat at a game! You deserve a 24-hour highlight reel packed with nothing but high-fives and "heck yeah" moments. Here's to hoping you're ending your day on a massive note with enough momentum to carry through an even better tomorrow! Today's Thursday Sports Feature is on UND Football's Evan Kludt and UND Softball's Katelyn Neumayer.


        By the request of a reader I am starting off this week's Thursday Sports Feature with Evan Kludt. Evan Kludt is a football player for the UND Fighting Hawks, showcasing his versatility and commitment to football. Originally arriving at UND in 2025 as a walk-on safety from Alexandria, Minnesota, Kludt began his collegiate football journey with jersey number 42 during his freshman year in 2025. In 2026, he will transition to jersey number 22 and shifted his position to cornerback in 2025 due to team needs and will now be a Defensive Back in 2026. Kludt is a player from the University of South Dakota (USD), where he previously participated in summer camp as a receiver, Kludt has demonstrated adaptability in his athletic career. Currently pursuing a degree in Pre-Physical Therapy, he has participated in nine games, accumulating three solo tackles and demonstrating his potential as a defensive player for the Fighting Hawks.


        Katelyn Neumayer is a  softball player for the Fighting Hawks Softball team. As an infielder with impressive right-handed throwing and batting skills, Neumayer has established herself as a key player for her team. Hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska, she has demonstrated exceptional athletic prowess while pursuing her academic goals as a senior majoring in Dietetics. Over the course of her impressive 168 career games, Neumayer has accumulated remarkable statistics, including 54 career runs, 114 career hits, and 7 career home runs. In the current season, she continues to showcase her skills with 15 runs, 34 hits, and 1 home run, further solidifying her reputation as a standout athlete on the Fighting Hawks Softball team.
