Imagine a surge of pure, passionate support washing over you, filling you with optimism and encouragement! Tonight I will be talking Fighting Hawk's Jadyn Keeler's upcoming Championship Meet appearance and the Spitfire's first game of the very first season.
Jadyn Keeler, a Fighting Hawk Track and Field athlete, is set to compete in the prestigious NCAA Track and Field Championships. She will showcase her exceptional running skills in two highly anticipated events. Tonight, at 9:56 pm, Keeler will participate in the 10,000-meter final, which will be broadcast live on ESPN2. Following her performance in the first event, she is scheduled to compete in the 5,000-meter final on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, also to be televised on ESPN2 at 8:55 pm. This championship represents a significant milestone in Keeler's athletic career, offering her a platform to demonstrate her remarkable speed, endurance, and competitive spirit on a national stage.
In the inaugural game of the Grand Forks Spitfires, the team faced off against the Minot Honeybees in an exciting and high-scoring matchup. The Spitfires quickly established their offensive prowess in the 2nd inning, with Anna Elliott scoring the team's first-ever run. She was soon followed by four additional runs from Makenna Alexander, Sofia Meer, Ally Hetzel, and Alex Graham, putting the Spitfires in a commanding position. The 3rd inning proved to be a more competitive affair, with both teams trading runs. Jill Halas and Clare Rettler scored for the Honeybees, while Anna Elliott and Makenna Alexander responded for the Spitfires. At this point, the Spitfires held a 7-2 lead. In the 4th inning, the Honeybees managed to narrow the gap slightly when Reagan Winn scored a run, bringing the score to 7-3. The 5th inning saw the Spitfires extend their lead, scoring 4 runs while the Honeybees added 1, making the score 11-4. The 6th and final inning was a decisive moment for the Grand Forks Spitfires. They scored 4 more runs through Anna Elliott, Makenna Alexander, Sofia Meer, and Ally Hetzel, while the Honeybees managed 2 runs of their own. The game concluded with a triumphant 15-6 victory for the Spitfires in their first-ever game, marking a memorable debut for the new team. The Wednesday June 10th game Recap will be the next blog.
