 Good Morning and Happy Tuesday August 18th, 2026 Fighting Hawk Fans! I sincerely hope you experience a truly spectacular day! Furthermore, prepare yourself to elevate the energy levels significantly because today we're enthusiastically jumping into a fantastic double dose of UND Sports! Specifically, I discussing UND Soccer and Fighting Hawks Football— representing two distinct teams united by one incredible Fighting Hawks spirit! Therefore, go ahead and grab your coffee or morning beverage, then dive headfirst into today's blog!


UND Soccer faced off against GB (Green Bay) Phoenix this past Sunday on August 16th, 2026. Throughout the first half, neither team managed to create any meaningful scoring opportunities. However, as the second half unfolded, the Hawks finally broke through and took the lead 1-0 thanks to a goal from Hunter Borgel. Subsequently, GB mounted an impressive comeback by scoring 2 goals in quick succession, which allowed them to seize control of the match at 2-1. Ultimately, North Dakota fell short and suffered a 2-1 defeat.


The Fighting Hawks Football team has secured a position within the top 10 rankings of yet another prestigious poll as they begin their season. The North Dakota football team finds itself ranked at the tenth spot in the highly regarded AFCA FCS Coaches Poll heading into the 2026 season. The UND Fighting Hawks are scheduled to face off against the Long Island University Sharks in their season opener, with the matchup taking place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, commencing at 7 o'clock Central Daylight Time from the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
