A Sports Sundae: Basketball Fudge, Track and Field Scoop, Hockey On Top!!!!
Welcome, Welcome,Welcome!!!! And Good Afternoon North Dakota Fans, It's Monday May 5. I hope you had a wonderful day. I am sharing my winter sports season review with you today. I welcome readers to share their favorite UND sports memories from the 24-25 Winter Season.
UND Hockey experienced a mixed season, concluding with a 21-15 record. The team was defeated by WMU in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff with a 4-2 score. Sacha Boisvert distinguished himself as a standout player for the 2024-2025 season, scoring 18 goals and contributing 14 assists. The team is scheduled to commence the 2025-2026 season with a match against the UManitoba on October 4th.
The North Dakota Hawk Men's Basketball team experienced a challenging season, concluding with a 12-21 record. The UND Women's Basketball team similarly faced difficulties, finishing 12-19. Treysen Eaglestaff demonstrated notable performance as a standout player for the men's team, while Jocelyn Schiller emerged as a key contributor for the women's team during the 24-25 season. Both basketball programs have yet to release their official schedules for the forthcoming 25-26 Basketball season.
The Fighting Hawk Indoor Track and Field programs exhibited notable achievements during the competitive season. Although the men's team did not advance athletes to the National Tournament, the women's team distinguished themselves by qualifying two exceptional athletes, Kenna Curry and Jadyn Keeler, for the NCAA Championships. The season ultimately represented a substantive and productive period for both athletic squads.
