Beyond Box Score: Which Players Are Being Featured On This Hump Day?

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday November 26th, 2025. As Thanksgiving approaches, I wish you a truly delightful and memorable day filled with warmth, joy, and anticipation for the festive gathering ahead. May your preparations be smooth, your spirits high, and your heart brimming with excitement for the wonderful moments of gratitude and connection that await you tomorrow. I moved the Player Feature up a day due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Players I'm featuring today are: Ethan Thomas from UND Track and Field, Etienne Higgins from UND Football, Sydney Bakritzes from UND Soccer.

Ethan Thomas is a talented sophomore thrower on the UND Track and Field team, hailing from his hometown of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Thomas has demonstrated exceptional athletic prowess during both indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. His impressive personal best performances include a remarkable shot put throw of 60-11 1/4 (18.57m) during the indoor season and a weight throw of 62-4 (19.00m). Throughout his outdoor track and field career, Thomas has showcased his versatility by competing in multiple throwing events, including discus, shot put, hammer throw, and javelin, highlighting his comprehensive skills as a multi-disciplinary athlete representing the UND track program.

Etienne Higgins is a promising young quarterback for the Fighting Hawks Football team, wearing jersey number 14. As a freshman from Council Bluffs, Iowa, he brings significant potential to the team's offensive lineup. Higgins is pursuing a degree in Social Work while balancing his academic and athletic commitments. During his high school career, he demonstrated exceptional athletic versatility by earning three varsity letters as a quarterback and participating in both basketball and track. Although he has not yet played in the 2025 season, his comprehensive high school athletic background suggests he has the skills and determination to become a key player for the Fighting Hawks. His multifaceted talents and commitment to both academics and athletics position him as a promising young athlete with a bright future for UND Football.

Sydney Bakritzes, a talented junior goalkeeper for the UND Soccer Team, wears the jersey number 00 and hails from Edina, Minnesota. Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Bakritzes has demonstrated her skill and dedication to the sport throughout her collegiate career. With nine games of experience under her belt, she has impressively accumulated 374 minutes and 46 seconds of playing time in the team's goal, showcasing her resilience and commitment to the UND soccer program. Her performance on the field reflects her passion for the game and her potential as a promising athlete in collegiate soccer.
