Shayla's Courtside Scoop: Recapping The Highs and The Heartbreak On The Hardwood!
Good Evening and Happy Tuesday December 16th, 2025 Fighting Hawk Fans! I hope this Tuesday has been filled with joy, warmth, and delightful moments that have brought a smile to your face. May the remainder of your day continue to be as wonderful and pleasant as the morning and afternoon have been, bringing you happiness and positive experiences. Today I am going to be sharing about UND Basketball.
The University of North Dakota Men's Basketball Team showcased their skills in two consecutive games during early December. In their first matchup on Wednesday, December 10th, the Fighting Hawks dominated Crown College (CC), securing an impressive victory with a final score of 89-43. The team demonstrated their offensive prowess and defensive strength throughout the game. Just a few days later, on Saturday, December 13th, the Fighting Hawks faced Western Illinois University (WIU) in another challenging contest. Despite a hard-fought battle that extended into overtime, UND ultimately fell short, losing a close game with a final score of 69-66. The intense game highlighted the team's competitive spirit and determination, even in a challenging defeat.
The UND Women's Basketball Team experienced a schedule adjustment when their originally planned game against Bismarck State College (BSC) on Tuesday, December 9th was postponed due to severe winter weather conditions. The team ultimately competed against Western Kentucky University (WKU) on Sunday, December 14th, in a challenging match that resulted in a decisive loss for UND. The final score of 80-50 demonstrated the competitive nature of the game and highlighted the difficulties faced by the UND Women's Basketball squad during this particular contest. Despite the postponement and subsequent defeat, the team continued to demonstrate resilience and commitment to their athletic pursuits throughout the season so far.
