Pucks, Points, and Home Ice: The Hockey Series Rewind and The Hockey Team Clinched Home Ice!
Good Afternoon and Happy Sunday February 8th, 2026 UND Fans! As the weekend gently unfolds, I extend my warmest wishes for a restful and delightful Sunday. May the remaining hours be a sanctuary of peace, filled with moments of pure relaxation, personal joy, and rejuvenating serenity. Take this time to unwind, indulge in your favorite activities, and savor the calm before the upcoming week begins. Whether you choose to rest, explore, or simply enjoy the quiet moments, I hope this day brings you comfort, happiness, and a sense of complete contentment. I am excited to talk about UND Hockey.
The UND Hockey team faced off against Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Bulldogs in an intense weekend series. The first game on Friday, February 6th, was a nail-biting contest that extended into overtime. The Green and White, narrowly lost the game 3-2 with just 6.2 seconds to spare in the overtime period. However, the team quickly rebounded in the series finale on Saturday, February 7th, turning the tables and decisively defeating the Bulldogs with a 4-1 victory. This weekend series showcased the competitive spirit and resilience of both collegiate hockey programs, highlighting the intense rivalry between UND and UMD.
The UND Hockey Squad has clinched home ice advantage for the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Quarterfinals, an exciting best-of-3 playoff series. The tournament will take place on: Friday, March 6th at 7:07 pm CST, Saturday, March 7th at 6:07 pm CST, and Sunday, March 8th at 6:07 pm CST. The third game will only be played if each team wins one of the first two games, adding an extra layer of suspense and competitive drama to the tournament. The opposing team will be announced later.
