Good Evening and Happy Sunday February 22nd, 2026 North Dakota Fans! I hope your Sunday has been an extraordinary day filled with pure relaxation, infectious laughter, and moments of absolute tranquility. May the day have unfolded like a beautifully crafted masterpiece, where every hour brought you joy, comfort, and a sense of peaceful contentment. The warmth of gentle moments, the brightness of spontaneous smiles, and the soothing rhythm of a perfectly calm day have hopefully embraced you completely, creating memories that will linger with a sense of pure happiness and serenity. Today I am going to talk about UND Softball, Basketball and Hockey.
The Fighting Hawks Softball team showcased an impressive performance during an exhilarating weekend of competition. On Thursday, February 19th, 2026, the team faced Green Bay (GB) in a commanding victory, securing a decisive 7-1 win. The following day, Friday, February 20th, 2026, UND continued their winning momentum by defeating Green Bay once again with a strong 9-4 performance in the first game of the day. Later that same day, the Hawks engaged in a closely contested game against Murray State University (MSU), emerging victorious with a narrow 2-1 triumph. Saturday brought another exciting day of softball for the Fighting Hawks. In the first game, UND once again battled Murray State, ultimately prevailing in a thrilling nine-inning contest with a 3-2 victory. The weekend concluded with a final matchup against Indiana University Indianapolis (IU Indy), where the Fighting Hawks demonstrated their skill and determination, securing an impressive 8-5 win and capping off a remarkable weekend of collegiate softball competition.
The UND Men's Basketball team faced off against the Kansas City (KC) Roos in an intense matchup on Thursday, February 19th, emerging victorious with a commanding 85-70 win. Just two days later, on Saturday, February 21st, the Hawks encountered the South Dakota State (SDSU) Jackrabbits in another competitive game, ultimately falling short with a final score of 91-83. Meanwhile, the UND Women's Basketball team had a single game during the week, competing against the University of St. Thomas (UST) Tommies. Despite their efforts, the ladies were defeated 70-58 in a challenging contest that showcased their determination and skill on the court.
The University of North Dakota Men's Hockey team engaged in a thrilling conference series against St. Cloud State University (SCSU). The first game on Friday, February 20th, ended in an intense 4-4 tie, with SCSU ultimately securing an additional conference point by winning the subsequent shootout. The following day, Saturday, February 21st, marked UND's Senior Night, a significant event for the team's graduating players. In a powerful performance, the UND Hockey team emerged victorious, defeating SCSU 6-4 and concluding the series on a high note.
