Good Morning and Happy Monday March 9, 2026 North Dakota Fans! May your journey today be a masterpiece of unexpected joy, where each moment shimmers with possibility, unexpected connections bloom like rare flowers, and spontaneous miracles dance across your path, filling your soul with luminous wonder and transforming ordinary seconds into extraordinary memories that resonate with pure, unbounded delight. Today I am going to talk about UND Hockey and Softball.

The University of North Dakota Hockey Team showcased their exceptional skills and determination during the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Quarterfinals, held on March 6th and 7th. In a thrilling two-game series against the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) Mavericks, the Fighting Hawks demonstrated their prowess on the ice. During the first game on Friday, UND secured a commanding 5-3 victory, setting the stage for an intense weekend of competition. The following day, the Hawks continued their impressive performance, defeating the Mavericks 5-1 in the second game. This decisive sweep allowed UND to advance to the Semifinals of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff, highlighting their strength and potential in the collegiate hockey tournament.

The UND Fighting Hawks Softball team demonstrated exceptional performance during an impressive weekend. In their first match on Friday, March 6th, the team showcased their skills by narrowly defeating Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) with a close 3-2 victory. Later that same day, they delivered a dominant performance against Norfolk State University (NSU), securing a commanding 9-0 win. The team's momentum continued on Saturday, March 7th, when they triumphed over Holy Cross (HC) with a solid 3-1 win in their first game. They followed this up with another strong showing against FDU, winning convincingly with a 6-1 score. The Hawks completed their remarkable weekend on Sunday, March 8th, with another emphatic victory against Holy Cross, decisively winning 9-0.
