It's been a while since I've done a Sports Feature Thursday due to the fact that I had UND Basketball pregames to do.
By request of a loyal reader this week's Thursday Sports Feature is going kick off with a Feature on Erik Martinson. Erik Martinson, a distinguished alumnus of the University of North Dakota (UND), has carved out an impressive career in the Athletic Department. Hailing from Roseau, Minnesota, and graduating in 2011, Martinson has risen through the ranks to become the Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief Operating Officer. His professional trajectory is characterized by comprehensive leadership and strategic vision for the university's athletic programs. Throughout his tenure, Martinson has been actively involved in multiple NCAA committees, significantly elevating North Dakota's national athletic profile. A cornerstone of his leadership has been the implementation of an ambitious master plan that has transformed the university's athletic infrastructure. This plan includes pivotal projects such as the state-of-the-art Albrecht Field, a premier softball facility, and the Hyslop at Memorial Village, a multifunctional complex housing the Athletic Department and residential apartments. Martinson's holistic approach has been crucial in modernizing and expanding the university's athletic facilities, demonstrating his commitment to enhancing student-athlete experiences and institutional excellence.
This week's player being featured is EJ Emery. Emery, a dedicated defenseman wearing jersey number 6, is a sophomore on the UND Hockey team hailing from Compton, California. Pursuing a degree in General Studies, he has already made a significant impact on the team's performance. Throughout his collegiate career, Emery has participated in an impressive 65 games, demonstrating his consistency and commitment to the sport. His statistical achievements include 3 career goals and 9 career assists, highlighting his versatility and skill on the ice. Additionally, he has accumulated 32 career penalties, showcasing his intense and competitive playing style. This season, Emery has already contributed a crucial game-winning goal, further solidifying his importance to the team's success.

DeleteAnna Watson doesn't work for UND Athletics anymore. It's currently Corey Lichtman, Sydney Smith and Alec Johnson. They're looking for a fourth.
DeleteSydney Smith does women's basketball now
Deletedats fast wow
DeleteI agree! I suppose the timing of Anna Watson's departure and Sydney Smith's hiring lined up perfectly I guess. But Tyler Wells also left in the middle of the school year that's probably why they haven't for Football's Communications.
Deletewho else leaved
DeleteEthan Erdman a few years ago, Josh Swain a few years ago and Jacob Pumphrey last year
DeleteO wow anyone before dat?
