        Jim Vehrenkamp, the Head Coach of the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks Women's Track and Field team, has been honored with the prestigious Outdoor Coach of the Year award by the Summit League. This recognition highlights his exceptional leadership and coaching skills in developing athletic talent. Congratulations to Coach Jim Vehrenkamp on receiving the Outdoor Coach of the Year from the Summit League! From The Stands To The Spotlight is happy for him! Adding to the team's success, 9 athletes have officially qualified for the National Collegiate Athletic Association West Preliminary Round, a significant achievement that will showcase their abilities. The competition is set to take place in Fayetteville, Arkansas, from Wednesday, May 27th through Saturday, May 30th, 2026, providing these student-athletes with a remarkable opportunity to demonstrate their athletic talent on a national stage.


        5 UND Softball players have been recognized for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements. The College Sports Communicators (CSC) have recognized these exceptional players in the 2026 Academic All-District team. The distinguished players include Taya Hopfauf, a Catcher who wears jersey number 11, Makenna Alexander, an Infielder with jersey number 23, and Camryn Lasota, a Pitcher and Outfielder sporting jersey number 8. Joining them in this prestigious recognition are Tegan Livesay, a Pitcher with jersey number 24, and Brooklyn Morris, an Outfielder wearing jersey number 27. From The Stands To The Spotlight wants to congratulate all 5 Fighting Hawk Softball players!

TOUCHDOWN! GAME TIMES HAVE BEEN BORN: LET'S GET READY FOLKS!!!

           Good Afternoon Fighting Hawk Fans, Happy Tuesday!!! It's officially July 15th. I hope your day went  fabulous and awesome. Hawk Football game times have officially landed safely from the Nest to the schedule. Which means I can share them with you. I can't wait for football. Which Hawks game are you most looking forward to watching in 2025? I hope you enjoy reading my post           The August 30th game against K-State will begin at 6:00pm. The September 6th game at home against PSU(Portland State)in Potato Bowl and Home Opener will start at 6:00 pm. The game @ UM of Montana on Saturday October 13th will be at 2:00pm The game against Valpo(Valparaiso)in a Homecoming and HOF game starting at 3:00pm on  September 20th. On October 4 the Hawks play @ UNI(Northern Iowa) with kickoff starting at 4:00pm. The following weekend  UND is playing YSU(Youngstown State) at home with the game starting at 3:00pm. ...
