Tonight I will be talking about UND's excellent year of community service.

The UND Athletics Department experienced an extraordinary year of community service during the 2025-2026 academic period. Student-athletes demonstrated exceptional commitment to social responsibility by dedicating an impressive 7,465 hours to community service initiatives. Throughout the year, these dedicated athletes participated in 4,012 distinct service commitments, showcasing their profound connection to local communities.

The student athletes' contributions extended beyond volunteer hours, generating a substantial economic impact of $269,786. Their efforts were nationally acknowledged when the department secured an impressive fourth-place ranking in the prestigious NCAA Team Works Challenge. Additionally, UND's Women's Golf and Tennis teams achieved remarkable success, both reaching the Elite Eight in the Helper Helper Team Challenge, further highlighting the institution's commitment to athletic excellence and community involvement. These achievements underscore UND Athletics' holistic approach to developing well-rounded student athletes who excel not only in competitive sports but also in meaningful community engagement and social responsibility.
