From First Pitch To Final Out: The Spitfires Postgame Recap!
Good Afternoon and Happy Friday July 17th, 2026 Grand Forks Spitfire Fans! The final stretch of the week is finally here, and we're bringing all of our energy across the finish line with determination and enthusiasm! I sincerely hope your Friday is off to a winning start and that your entire day is filled with excitement, positivity, and truly great moments that you'll remember. Thanks so much for joining me at From The Stands To The Spotlight - let's get ready together for another exciting and thrilling ride ahead! Today I will be sharing about the Grand Forks Spitfires.
On Thursday, July 9th, 2026, the Grand Forks Spitfires faced off against the Minot Honeybees in what turned out to be a closely contested matchup, and unfortunately they ended up losing by a narrow margin of 10-9 to the Honeybees in Minot, North Dakota. On Monday, July 13th, 2026, the Grand Forks Spitfires returned home to their home field to play against the La Crosse Steam in an important game. Through the first 3 innings of play, the Spitfires managed to build up and go up by a significant margin of 7-0. However, in the 4th inning, it was all La Crosse Steam scoring runs and cutting into the deficit to make it 7-4, with runs scored by Josie Brudos, Grace Frechette, Rachel Mori, and Alexa Gregg. In the 5th inning, the Spitfires came back strong to extend the lead when Brooklyn Hofer scored an important run to bring the game to 8-4. There was no additional scoring for the rest of the game after that point. The Spitfires ultimately secured a win with a final score of 8-4.
On Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, the Grand Forks Spitfires faced off against the Madison Night Mares in what turned out to be a competitive matchup. Scoring didn't begin until the 2nd inning when the Madison Night Mares managed to score 3 runs, taking an early lead and going up 3-0 against the Spitfires. The action continued and scoring returned once again in the 4th inning when the Night Mares' talented player Luciana Moreno stepped up and scored a run to extend Madison's commanding lead to 4-0. However, in the 5th inning, the Spitfires' Makenna Alexander finally broke through and got Grand Forks on the scoreboard with a run, bringing the score closer at 4-1. But Madison quickly answered back when their player Makayla Tosch got one to go and increased the lead back up to 5-1. In the sixth inning, Madison scored 1 more run to officially secure the victory and beat the Spitfires with a final score of 6-1.
