Sunday Dugout Talk: Grand Forks Spitfires Edition!

         Good Morning and Happy Sunday July 26th, 2026 Spitfire Fans! The energy is high and the excitement is on! I hope you have an incredible, awesome, and action- packed day today! Get ready for another exciting journey as we step into  the spotlight together and talk about some Grand Forks Softball.
        On Saturday, July 25th, 2026, the Grand Forks Spitfires faced the Madison Night Mares at Albrecht Field in Grand Forks, North Dakota, in a competitive matchup. The Spitfires hosted their Limitless Night event. The video above captures the opening pitch. In the 1st inning, Madison scored two runs to establish an early 2-0 lead. Scoring resumed in the 3rd inning as both teams exchanged scoring opportunities. Madison extended their advantage with runs by Ava Carroll, Hilary Blomberg, and Luciana Moreno, reaching 5-0. At the bottom of the 3rd inning, Emma Peeples scored for the Spitfires, bringing Grand Forks to 5-1. In the 4th inning, Grand Forks responded with runs by Addie Ferguson and Ella Dardis, narrowing Madison's lead to 5-3. The Spitfires continued their momentum in the 5th inning, reducing the deficit to 5-4. Madison regained ground in the 6th inning with three runs, extending their lead to 8-4. In the 7th inning, the Spitfires scored two runs by Ally Hetzel and Shannon Cunningham, closing the gap to 8-6. Grand Forks fell short in this closely contested game, losing 8-6.
