Hawks Soar! North Dakota Football Powered To An Epic Victory Over LIU!

        Good Afternoon and Happy Friday August 28th UND Fans! I'm sending a massive wave of good vibes your way, and I hope you're having an I'm channeling a tremendous surge of positive energy in your direction, and I genuinely hope your day has been nothing short of fantastic up until this very moment. However, hold off on settling in too comfortably, since we're diving headfirst into the most epic gridiron tailgate experience imaginable. College Football has made its grand return! Throw on those Green and White colors, because today I'm excited to walk you through the incredible UND-LIU Showdown!


        The Fighting Hawks Football squad took on the LIU (Long Island) Sharks at the Alerus Center  in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Right from the start of the 1st quarter, it was entirely UND's game to control. The Hawks came out firing, scoring 3 consecutive touchdowns in rapid succession. Korey Tai found the end zone first, followed by Matt Lawson, and then Nathan Hromadka added another. When that opening quarter wrapped up, North Dakota had built an impressive 22-0 lead. Moving into the 2nd quarter, the Hawks kept piling on the points when Caleb Goodloe, Charles Langama, and Matt Lawson each punched in touchdowns of their own, pushing the scoreboard to 42-0. As things shifted into the 3rd quarter and 4th quarter, the momentum swung dramatically in favor of the Sharks. During the 3rd quarter, LIU started their comeback effort when Tyselle Spencer and Boakai Veikei each scored, narrowing the Hawks' advantage down to 42-14. In the fourth quarter, the Sharks mounted a serious challenge to chip away at the UND lead, though their efforts came up just short when LIU's Luca Stanzani scored to bring the final tally to 42-21. When all was said and done, the Fighting Hawks Football team secured a convincing 42-21 victory over the LIU Sharks.
