The Incredible North Dakota Football Captain's Call: Which Players Will Have The Honor Of Being A Captain?

        Good Evening and Happy Sunday August 23rd, 2026 Fighting Hawks Fans!I sincerely hope that your day was genuinely enchanting and wonderful! Whether you've been absolutely smashing your objectives, marked off each and every item on your personal checklist of tasks to complete, or merely made it through your Sunday while maintaining a grin, you are absolutely worthy of an enormous, tremendous celebration. Seize your preferred Sunday night beverage, settle in, unwind, and immerse yourself completely into today's edition of From the Stands to the Spotlight. In this particular edition, I will be discussing North Dakota Football.


        UND Football has now officially chosen the Captains who will lead the 2026 Team. Both number 0 Lance Rucker and number 88 Sam Strandell are returning as 2nd year captains, bringing continuity and experience to the leadership group. Joining Rucker and Strandell in their captain roles for the upcoming 2026 season are number 7 Micheal Devereaux, number 1 Jerry Kaminski, and number 79 Trace Thaden, who will all contribute their own leadership to the squad. The Fighting Hawks Football squad is officially kicking off their season with an exciting matchup against the Long Island University Sharks, set to take place at the  Alerus Center  in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This highly anticipated game is scheduled for Thursday, August 27th, 2026, with kickoff happening at 7:00pm CDT.
