UND Soccer Opens The Curtain: Recapping A Thrilling Exhibition Split!

Today we're shifting our focus over to UND soccer, and we're celebrating the raw passion, the incredible dedication, and those unforgettable moments that keep happening right there on the pitch. So let's jump right in and really get this conversation rolling!


        The UND Fighting Hawks soccer team faced the Drake Bulldogs in an exhibition match on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa. Despite a competitive effort throughout the contest, the Hawks fell short in a 2-1 loss. In contrast, the following Sunday, August 9th, delivered significantly different results when UND Soccer hosted the Regina Cougars in Grand Forks, North Dakota for another exhibition opportunity. The Hawks demonstrated exceptional control and execution, outshooting the Cougars 5-1 in shots in the first half. This strong start was driven by key contributions from Jojo Muelhaupt and Charlie Bassinet, who established an early 2-0 lead for UND. Furthermore, UND dominated the second half with a commanding 7-0 outshooting advantage, with Hannah Peters adding an additional goal at 3-0. The team secured a decisive 3-0 victory. Looking ahead, the regular season officially begins on Thursday, August 13, 2026, when the Green and White take on the University of Minnesota Gophers at 7:00 p.m. CDT in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The game will be available for viewing on Big Ten Plus.
