        Good Afternoon and Happy Sunday September 27th, 2026 North Dakota Fans! I hope you're having a fantastic day so far! The game is in the books, and now it's time to look back at the action! In today's edition of From The Stands To The Spotlight, I'll be sharing the UND - ISU Game Day Fan Poll Results and the Fighting Hawks vs Sycamores Post-Game Recap.


        The Game Day Fan Poll Results have finally arrived. So, the question posed to fans was: What is your favorite treat to get at the Fighting Hawks football games? Well, it turns out that a significant majority of fans overwhelmingly chose the Bavarian Almonds, which garnered an impressive 77.4% of the vote. Meanwhile, a smaller segment of fans, representing just 3.2%, indicated their preference for Dippin' Dots. Additionally, another 3.2% of fans selected candy as their favorite treat option. Furthermore, 16.1% of fans expressed their preference for popcorn as their go-to snack at the exciting UND football games.





        The Fighting Hawks Football Squad engaged in a conference-opening matchup against the ISU (Indiana State) Sycamores on Saturday, September 26th, marking the beginning of their conference play schedule. The competition took place in Terre Haute, Indiana, where both squads demonstrated their offensive capabilities. Throughout the first quarter, both teams managed to get points on the board. The North Dakota Fighting Hawks struck first, securing an early touchdown courtesy of Korey Tai's efforts. Subsequently, Indiana State answered back with their own touchdown, scored by Jayden Reed. As the first quarter came to a close, the scoreboard reflected a tied contest at 7-7 as both teams headed into the second quarter. During the second quarter, North Dakota seized control of the game by taking the lead when Jerry Kaminski crossed the goal line for a touchdown, pushing the Fighting Hawks ahead 14-7. Building on their momentum, UND extended their advantage further when Mason South recorded another touchdown, stretching the Hawks' lead to 21-7. The Sycamores refused to go quietly, however, as Jaylan Johnson scored a touchdown to narrow the gap and bring the score to 21-14. To close out the second quarter, the Fighting Hawks added to their total when Cameron Weir scored a touchdown, giving North Dakota a commanding 28-14 lead heading into halftime. Following the halftime break, the third quarter belonged entirely to Indiana State when Aaron Ball found the end zone, trimming the North Dakota advantage to 28-21. In the fourth quarter, Jerry Kaminski returned to the end zone to extend the Fighting Hawks' lead to 35-21. Cameron Weir contributed once more to the Hawks' offensive output, pushing the North Dakota lead to 42-21. The Sycamores mounted a late comeback effort, scoring two consecutive touchdowns to bring the final score to 42-35, though it ultimately proved insufficient. The Fighting Hawks secured a hard-fought victory with a final score of 42-35.
