        Good Evening and Happy Sunday September 20th, 2026 UND Fans! I hope you're having a fantastic day! Get ready because today's blog is packed with action, excitement, and everything you need to catch up on! I have the UND - Nebraska Game Day Fan Poll Results, the North Dakota Volleyball Weekend Recap, and the Fighting Hawks - Cornhuskers Post - Game Recap all coming your way! Let's dive into the highlights, reactions, and unforgettable moments from an action - packed weekend of Fighting Hawks sports! Before we get started I have a huge Birthday shoutout to give to two of my family members who are also proud blog family members as well! Happy Birthday to my dad and his twin brother, my uncle Dan!


        UND - Nebraska Game Day Fan Poll Results. Question: What Will Be The Biggest Key To A Fighting Hawks Victory? The majority of respondents—57.1%—identified Defense Creating Big Stops as essential to victory. Meanwhile, 14.3% of fans emphasized Winning The Battle In The Trenches. Similarly, another 14.3% pointed to Making Explosive Offensive Plays. Notably, no fans selected Winning The Turnover Battle, accounting for 0%. Finally, 14.3% of UND fans highlighted Strong Special Teams Performance as crucial.


        The UND Volleyball squad participated in the Lamar Invitational tournament, which took place over the weekend spanning from Friday, September 18th, 2026, through Saturday, September 19th, 2026. During the opening match on Friday, September 18th, 2026, UND faced off against LU (Lamar University) and emerged victorious with a commanding 3-0 sweep over the Cardinals. In their subsequent match that same day, the Fighting Hawks competed against SHSU (Sam Houston State University) Bearkats, and unfortunately, the Green, White, and Black fell short in a closely contested battle, losing 3-1. Moving into Saturday, September 19th, 2026, the UND Fighting Hawks took on the ULM (University of Louisiana at Monroe) Warhawks in another competitive matchup. The Fighting Hawks dominated the opening set with a 25-19 victory. However, ULM responded strongly in the second set, securing a 25-18 win to even the match. The UND team then regained momentum and control, capturing both the third and fourth sets with narrow victories of 25-23 and 25-23 respectively, ultimately defeating ULM with a final score of 3-1.



        Out on the football field, the Fighting Hawks Football squad confronted the Nebraska Cornhuskers during this past Saturday, September 19th, 2026, taking part in an FBS-FCS battle held in Lincoln, Nebraska. Throughout the opening half, the Cornhuskers controlled the game with complete dominance, establishing an impressive 17-0 advantage by the time halftime took place. Following the intermission in play, Nebraska sustained their powerful offensive drive when Jamal Rule effectively executed a field goal, extending their lead to 24-0 against UND. In turn, the Fighting Hawks made a spirited attempt to reduce the Cornhuskers' formidable margin when North Dakota's Caleb Goodloe managed to register the Hawks on the scoreboard with a touchdown, bringing the deficit down to 24-7. Transitioning into the 4th quarter, Nebraska contributed 7 additional points to their overall tally, further amplifying their dominant lead to 31-7. As the contest advanced further into the 4th quarter, the Cornhuskers earned an extra field goal courtesy of Kyle Cunanan, ultimately clinching their triumph over the Fighting Hawks football squad with a concluding score of 34-7.
