The Votes Are In & The Game Is Reviewed: UND Football vs. UST Tommies Game Day Fan Poll Results and Post-Game Recap!

         Good Afternoon and Happy Sunday September 6th, 2026 Hawks Fans! I genuinely hope you're having an absolutely incredible day—one that's been filled with excitement, cherished football memories, and plenty of Hawk pride! Now that the final whistle has blown and the Game Day energy is starting to wind down, I'd like to share the Game Day Poll Results with you and break down all of the thrilling action from North Dakota Football's intense matchup against the St. Thomas Tommies! So let's jump right in, folks!


        I have the Game Day Poll Results. The question asked was: Who Do You Think Will Win The Game? Most fans—83.3 percent—predicted the Fighting Hawks would win by 40 points. Meanwhile, 11.1 percent of respondents chose the Fighting Hawks by 20 points. Additionally, no fans selected the Tommies by 40 points. Finally, 5.6 percent believed the Fighting Hawks would secure an overtime victory.


                                                        

        The UND Fighting Hawks Football squad competed against the St. Thomas (UST) Tommies in the Potato Bowl on Saturday, September 5th, 2026 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota. During the opening first quarter, the Hawks put up 20 points while simultaneously preventing the Tommies from registering any points on the scoreboard. As the teams transitioned into the second quarter, the score stood at 20-0 in favor of North Dakota. Throughout the second quarter, both squads exchanged back-and-forth scoring opportunities. The Fighting Hawks recorded touchdowns courtesy of Mason South, Korey Tai, and Sam Strandell, while the St. Thomas Tommies answered with scoring contributions from Ben Holland and Malachi Boadi-Aboagye. When the second quarter concluded, UND maintained a commanding 41-12 advantage. Moving into the third quarter, North Dakota struck first with a touchdown from Charles Langama before St. Thomas responded with a touchdown from Patrick Wagner, leaving the scoreboard reading 48-19 at the conclusion of the third quarter. During the fourth and final quarter, both teams continued to exchange scoring opportunities back and forth. The Hawks extended their lead with touchdowns from Griffin Broderick and Javance Tupou'ata-Johnson, while the Tommies added scoring via Noah Long, bringing the final tally to 62-26. In the end, the Fighting Hawks secured a decisive victory over UST, finishing with a final score of 62-26.
