Are you ready, North Dakota fans? Let's dive right into today's blog!

Following UND Hockey's impressive weekend triumph, which consisted of a dominant 3-2 victory on Friday, October 9th, 2026, and a thrilling 4-3 victory on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, both secured against the Bemidji State Beavers, the team continues to maintain their prestigious standing within the elite top five rankings. Within the USCHO Poll, North Dakota has managed to hold steady at the fourth position. Similarly, in the USA Hockey Poll, UND likewise maintains their fourth-place ranking as well.

The Fighting Hawks Football squad has secured a position at number 11 in this week's Stats Perform Poll. Meanwhile, in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll, the Hawks find themselves ranked at number 15, which follows their initial MVFC loss of the season that occurred on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, when they faced off against the UNI (Northern Iowa) Panthers. Additionally, the Green and White and Black are maintaining a record of 5-2 for the season, while simultaneously holding a 2-1 record in Missouri Valley Football Conference play.

On Thursday, October 8th, 2026, the UND Soccer squad took the field against the UNO (Omaha) Mavericks at Bronson Field in Grand Forks, North Dakota. When the final whistle blew, the game had settled into a 0-0 tie. Come Sunday, October 11th, 2026, the Hawks were back in action, facing off against the UST (St. Thomas) Tommies, also at Bronson Field in Grand Forks, North Dakota. During the first half of play, both teams found the back of the net—UND's Cora Ellermann scored to put the Hawks on the board, while UST's Kalli Knowles answered right back, evening things up at 1-1 as the teams headed into halftime. In the second half, Kalli Knowles struck again, giving the Tommies a 2-1 advantage. Despite their efforts, the Fighting Hawks couldn't mount a comeback, ultimately falling to the Tommies with a final score of 2-1.

North Dakota Volleyball had limited competition on their schedule, with only a single matchup arranged for Saturday, October 10th, 2026, taking place at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where they faced off against their in-state conference rivals, the NDSU (North Dakota State) Bison. Throughout the opening set, the Bison managed to secure victory over the Hawks with a final tally of 25-22. Moving into the second set, NDSU continued their dominance, defeating UND by a score of 25-21. By the third and final set, North Dakota State maintained their competitive edge, claiming another victory over North Dakota with an impressive 25-14 score. Ultimately, the Fighting Hawks found themselves on the losing end of a decisive 3-0 shutout defeat at the hands of the Bison.
